So take it away Rebecca ...
* What is your name and where do
you come from?
My
name is Rebecca O’Hare and I hail from Dundalk, Co Louth however I have been
living in Limerick for close to 13 years since the age of 18 when I moved here
to take up a place in Art college.
* Shop names are so important
and personal; where did you get yours from?
I have a small obsession with rainbows and always found them to
be lucky. During my poor college days I once cleared out a rainbow coloured bag
and a sparkly rainbow wallet and found money in both. Anyone who’s been to
college knows that finding any money is like winning the lotto for a student
and do I decided from there that if I ever opened a mini business it would be
called LuckyRainbowDesigns.
* Where do you find that you get your inspiration from?
* Where do you find that you get your inspiration from?
Here,
there and everywhere. I am someone who can get bored easily, likes to dip in
and out of multiple projects and always has something on the go. I can get
inspiration from my surroundings, reading blogs, picking up magazines or
watching the odd tutorial on you tube.
* How do you keep up your
motivation?
This
is a toughie as I also hold down a busy full time job with lots of
responsibility. I often find myself in my day job daydreaming about what I’m
going to make that evening or planning long and busy crafty weekends so that I
can really utilise my time, however in saying that there are times when I don’t
want to be in the craft room and need to be outdoors.
I
source motivation from positive quotes, from deep within or literally telling
myself to pull my socks together and get on with it!
* Does Art enhance your life?
Art
always has and always will enhance my life and surroundings. It’s very
important to me to be a creative person and it’s always the first thing I want
people to know about me. I have a colourful personality to match my creativity
and I think the two go hand in hand. I find that blogging in particular really
enhances the work that I make. I particularly enjoy
connecting with many talented bloggers from all over the world, reading their
daily thoughts, tutorials and advice and just generally spending free time
drooling over beautiful blog designs.
* Can we have one pearl of
wisdom you have learnt along the way?
At the
ripe young age of 30 (30 is the new 21!) I’m not sure I have many pearls to
offer, but I have noticed that at this age the smaller pieces of drama that may
have sent me overboard at 20,21,22 don’t even cause me to bat an eye lid at 30
so hurrah for that!
A few pieces of advice…. Dream big and don’t forget to be awesome!

* Are you a member of any teams on Etsy - does this help?
I sure
am, I’m part of the Etsy Ireland team and love the support being part of a team
can provide. I also lend a hand with their Team Facebook page promoting Etsy
shops, sharing their new listings or making people aware of others blogs.
* How do you feel about your life right now?
I’m at
a point where a big change may be coming my way, but I honestly can’t say much
about that right now. I would say I’m at a bit of a crossroads in terms of
career and in the town where I live. Having lived in Limerick for such a long
time I am now looking for a change of scenery be that home or abroad, so a lot
decisions need to be made right now! The joys of being a grown up!
I hope you enjoyed Rebecca's interview and feel a little inspired. I love her blog personally, she makes and finds the prettiest things and the best quotes. Long live Lucky Rainbow Designs!
