So at the end of last month I was staying just outside Bushmills, with my Hubby and we went hiking all over the countryside around the Giant's Causeway. It felt amazing to be somewhere so familiar but seeing it from a different angle. I love my country and love to explore it even when I think I know it so well. :)
He is just a few of the photos I took from the 1st day. We walked from Portballintrae to the Causeway itself and then back again to eat chips :) ....
the brown peaty waters of the River Bush meet the Sea
The rushes deep in the strong current of the peaty River Bush
Just beautiful - the stunning grass covered sand dunes
The miniature steam railway track
I just love all these lines and different shades of grass
The view to the Giant's Causeway - way around that far bend
Love this Hotel, been there forever :)
Doesn't get much more Irish than this - a pub bar with fire (not lit!!) Guinness and a half for the lady :)
The walk back and the cows had been let wander
A boardwalk through the dunes back to the car
Time for Chips :)
Hope you enjoyed this first set of photographs from our first day of the trip - this was the best day really, nothing like the first day of a wee holiday to calm the mind.
Namaste, the birds are calling me...
